Back-to-School Blues

Well, summer time is almost over for most school-aged children, and you're probably saying, "now what"?...early morning rises to catch "the big cheese", work, play, and then back home (again).
Even if summer vacation was not as productive as you would have liked, have you considered after school activities to keep things busy?
I've recently learned that children who are involved in after school activities are less likely to commit crimes, get pregnant early, or be at home bored and unsupervised. Statistics show that most youth-driven offenses occur on weekdays between 3pm and 7pm (just after school, and just before curfew/bed-time). Kids need something to do after school.
Check with your local Boy's and Girl's Club, the YMCA/YWCA and ask about their after school programs for youth. If they're full, ask for a referral to another group for your specific age range and activity focus.
After school programs are a GREAT way to keep kids busy. Chances are they may even get to have the 'Journey Girl Experience' while they're there ![]()
